Student Activities at our Minneapolis Location

Formal learning at the downtown Minneapolis location of Globe University/Minnesota School of Business (GU/MSB) is reinforced by a variety of student activities. Students are able to join organizations related to their programs of study. These groups offer opportunities to develop relationships outside the classroom . Students begin building the professional networks that will help them succeed throughout their careers. Just as important, they have fun while learning.

Contact us

To learn about student activities at our IDS Tower facility, contact us toll-free at 1-877-303-6060. You can take a tour, talk with students and find out what it’s like to study at GU/MSB-Minneapolis.

Student organizations

Our student organizations offer many chances to refine skills learned in the classroom. Our chapter of DEX, the college version of Decca, the high school business and marketing organization, sends students to competitions, brings speakers to our campuses and organizes tours of local companies. Our paralegal club sponsors mock trial days judged by local attorneys and judges. Whatever your degree program, we have an organization that supports it.

Fundraising

Student groups also organize charitable activities such as fund-drives for families in need and collections for local homeless shelters. Students also undertake fund-raisers to support the activities of their organizations. They can sell snacks in the Commons area, arrange movie nights and sponsor events.

Networking

One of the skills that’s hard to learn in a classroom is the ability to network. Although your teachers and classmates can certainly be part of your professional network, making connections with others who share your interests is one of the best ways to stay connected. Joining organizations of like-minded people is a great way to get started networking.

Learning about externship opportunities

Many of our programs require externships or other off-campus experiences. Making connections with faculty is a great way to learn about opportunities for required work experience. Our instructors are experienced professionals in their fields and are able to steer students toward excellent sources of information, employment and externship opportunities.
