The international student application process

Although we will help you with all aspects of your application, you will find that the process will go more smoothly if you are prepared. You can begin assembling the following required documents at any time:

All international students:

  • Copy of passport
  • Proof of funds
  • Affidavit of support if using a sponsor
  • Documentation of all program-specific entrance requirements

Graduate students will also need:

If you apply to a master's program, you will also be required to submit the following:

  • An official undergraduate transcript demonstrating completion of a baccalaureate degree or a documented international transcript approved by education department personnel
  • Current professional resume
  • A typed, double-spaced five-page-maximum statement of purpose that clearly states your professional, academic and personal goals
  • Two professional letters of recommendation
  • Attestation of English proficiency completed as part of your undergraduate degree documentation

When the documents listed above have been received, the Dean of Graduate Programs or the Dean's designated representative will conduct an interview with you and complete the Student Evaluation Form. The form will be used when determining acceptance into the program. A copy of the form is available from the admissions department.

Undergraduate students will also need:

  • An official copy of Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL) report with a minimum score of 500 (paper-based), 173 (computer-based) or 61 (Internet-based)
  • A minimum Accuplacer score for the requested program
  • If you are applying to a nursing program, you will also be required to present either a Test of Spoken English (TSE) report with a minimum score of 50 or a Speaking Proficiency English Assessment Kit (SPEAK) report with a minimum score of 50

Form I-20

When your application is approved, we will promptly issue an I-20 form to include with your visa application.

Tuition and fees

Tuition and fees: The international student tuition rate is $515 per quarter-hour of credit for undergraduate programs except nursing, and $550 per quarter-hour of credit for graduate programs. The tuition rate for international students in the nursing program is $625 per credit hour.

International students will be required to demonstrate adequate funds for personal and educational expenses.

Working while learning, CPT

Many of our international students work during part of their programs in the U.S. Our Master of Business Administration and Master of Science in Management programs focus on the real-world application of management concepts. This curricular practical training (CPT) component means you will need to secure employment at some point in your studies. Our career services department will be happy to help you in your job search.
