The Master of Science in Management (MSM) Degree


The downtown Minneapolis campus of Globe University/Minnesota School of Business (GU/MSB) offers a unique graduate program—the Master of Science in Management (MSM). The program serves students who have technical expertise in specific areas of emphasis, preparing them for management positions within their current industries or areas of organizational operations. Students are expected to apply theories of management in their professional employment throughout the program.

Areas of emphasis within the master’s degree program

The Master of Science in Management degree program includes three emphases:

  • MSM: Health Care Management. The master’s program focuses on human resource management, ethics, law, regulatory affairs and other administrative areas in the specific context of medical and health care management.
  • MSM: Information Technology. Industry-specific topics such as IT security, ethics of technology and personnel management are studied in the context of information technology management. The master’s degree is appropriate for the student with two years of experience in any area of information systems or information technology.
  • Managerial Leadership. This master’s for operations management professionals prepares team members and team leaders for management positions within specific areas of operations, including business administration, sales, marketing, finance, accounting and human resource management.

Frequent program starts and flexible options

The downtown Minneapolis campus admits students to the MSM program every four weeks.  The program is available as a day or evening program and through the school’s online college.

International student services and program benefits

The Master of Science in Management program requires students to hold professional employment. For that reason, an international student may be eligible for a work permit as early as the first quarter of studies in the U.S. Contact Alex Thomas to begin the admission process that precedes application for a student visa.

Our campus is located in the IDS tower, in the heart of the Minneapolis business district. Students who work in nearby office buildings, downtown residents and international students find that our central location makes us a very convenient place to earn a graduate degree. The great mix of students at this campus prepares students for the global economy in which they will be working.  

Requirements for admission to this program

Each admissions decision is based on a personal interview and assessment of a number of factors, including the student's experience or special interest in the chosen area of emphasis.

Credits for prior education or work experience

Globe University/Minnesota School of Business awards credit for course-equivalent work experience, military training and courses taken at approved graduate institutions. Up to 50% of the credits required for the master’s in management at GU/MSB can be fulfilled in that way. The school does not charge tuition or fees for evaluation for such credit.
